We disturb the soil as little as possible, building up microbe associations in the rhizosphere.
We keep the soil planted as much as possible. By incorporating techniques like crop rotation, interplanting, and cover cropping we ensure that the soil biome is fed by a constant supply of root exudates.
We keep the soil covered as much as possible using a variety of organic mulches in and around the beds, keeping large downfalls of rain from eroding the soil. The mulching also provides habitat for many local insects that are beneficial to the ecosystem. As they break down they add to the soil organic matter feeding the whole system slowly over time.
We try with all our might to do our very best, counting it all joy, to create soil that is alive and capable of producing nutritious food for our very valued customers.
Feel free to ask questions as we love talking about growing vegetables almost as much as growing them!
