Certified Naturally Grown

We are proud to have been certified as a Certified Naturally Grown farm!
Naturally Grown: This certification is an alternative to the “USDA Organic” label. The process to be certified “USDA Organic” can be cumbersome for farmers, so the “Certified Naturally Grown” label uses the same requirements but is verified by a team of CNG farmers, not the USDA. Be aware—this is different than when the word “natural” or “all-natural” appears alone on a label.

Produce Safety

Food safety is of paramount concern to us. We use strict cleaning and sanitation practices as outlined by the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and participate in annual training beyond what is posted here.

Certificate of Inspection
The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services received federal grant funding in 2016 to establish a Produce Safety Program within the Office of Dairy and Foods. This new regulatory program will work to address the growing, packing, holding and dissemination of produce grown on farms and will encourage the safe production of fruits and vegetables and promote understanding and compliance with the FDA Produce Safety Rule and state legislation.
